Ruffle Rose Collection

Wednesday, May 24th, 2017

I am currently working on a new collection of hair accessories based upon cabbage roses and tea roses to replace my current collection of parchment tea roses. The current collection will be on my website a little longer while I finalise my new collection.

Here is a sneak peek at a work in progress shot of my new roses.

Patchwork Vintage Chair

Monday, August 10th, 2015

When I am not working on Flutterby Weddings I still like to be creative in my free time.

I recently inherited a Lloyd Loom style chair which needed renovating, I painted it in Deeply Plum Statement Emulsion paint from Wilkinsons I then coated it in satin varnish to protect the paint and left it to dry while worked on the cushion.

I really wanted the cushion to have a vintage feel but I also wanted to use modern fabrics so I designed a crazy patch work pattern. I collected together lots of fat quarters in purple, dark blue, coral, burnt orange, red, grey, black and green. I choose motifs which featured animals, birds, flora and spots and stripes to create an eclectic feel. It took a long time to complete it as I patchworked it by hand but I am really pleased with the finished chair, it now sits proudly in our conservatory.

New Chapter

Thursday, January 8th, 2015

Here at Flutterby Weddings we are heading into a new chapter for 2015.

We have just converted what was once just storage space into a brand new studio. The main build was completed just before Christmas.

We now have a lovely bright studio with a large window and plenty of  creative space.

Our old studio will become our new office and the old office will now be a storage room.

Our new studio will have a dedicated packaging area, a lovely bright space for photography, lots more storage so I can increase our range of products and I will have a fantastic new desk area for designing and making my handmade accessories.

We are now designing the studio to make the most of the available space, we have put together a Pinterest board  with lots of lovely inspirational photos. We are going for an eccentric English feel with just a hint of retro. Please click on the photo below to be taken to our Pinterest board.

The next stage is to have the studio decorated which hopefully will happen within the next few weeks.

The wallpaper has been ordered, we have chosen a lovely neutral wallpaper for one wall from Graham and Brown called Eccentric.

It features a forest of trees with pigeons, bowler hats, light bulbs and ornate frames hanging from the branches. We will paint the remaining three walls in grey emulsion paint and team it with a grey carpet. We wanted to keep the walls and floor neutral as we plan to add lots of colour with furniture, accessories and soft furnishings.
